This video shows the importance of clean energy and how we need to move in that direction. Interest groups play a big role in the future of clean energy by spending millions of dollars each year lobbying in Washington D.C.

American Idol for President
This social interest group political cartoon explains how America is more obsessed with TV and fame than with who should be the next President. This cartoon expresses how many Americans feel when they look at the ballot. Many people look at the ballot and don't know the names of most of the people running for Congress. Usually they know the President or else they wouldn't be voting but many of those who don't vote is because they don't know who's running.

This internet site explains interest groups on the "left" side and "right" side. Some groups on the left side would be ACLU and Green Peace. ACLU is to protect the checks and balances in the Constitution against government abuse of power. Green Peace is attempting to convince world leaders to stop Nuclear testing, among other things.
On the right side some groups are Club for Growth and Gov not God. Club for Growth believes the opportunity comes from economic freedom. Gov for God wants to elect men and women who hold conservative beliefs.

This image shows how the lobbyist does not want government controlled health care. The lobbyist feels the government will get deep into the peoples pockets because they will have to raise our taxes to pay for the health care bill.
Our point of view is a conservative one, where less government involvement is better for everyone. The people should have the power, not the government.
Nature & Functioning of an Interest Group
Paid lobbyist for representation on a given cause. Washington attorneys are paid handsome sums of money to represent their clients. Interest Groups hire Washington attorneys with inside connections to represent their cause. Causes eventually turn into bills and bills turn into laws.

Live, Kill, or Both?
This political cartoon describes someone who is against abortion but how hypocritical they are. The man holding the sign states to the other man that "touch my sign and I'll kill you." This is saying that he is obviously not pro-life for everyone. These "pro-life" protesters are insinuating that anyone who says you should have a choice (pro-choice) is a murderer.
An example of the hypocrisy would be George W. Bush's pro-life but pro-death penalty view. Bush holds the distinction of signing 152 death warrants while being the governor of Texas, more than any governor in modern times. Obviously his morals contradict himself and prove this political cartoon correct.
In our point of view, it is important to be "pro-choice" because regardless of your own beliefs, you're taking away the right for someone else to do what they want to their body. Many people also do not have the money to support a child and have health problems and risks. Once into the third trimester though, abortion should be illegal because by that time it could be born and potentially survive and it is a baby by that point.
